Meat and Eggs
Cows in PasturePrentice with CowWe offer our customers beef, pork, and chicken.  We tend our animals with respect and gratitude.  We believe that meat raised on our farm is the best you can find anywhere.  The animals enjoy a "natural" life, doing whatever activities their species prefers: grazing, rooting, scratching, taking a dust bath, etc.  The taste and quality are far superior to any feedlot or factory-raised animal but the impact on the environment is also to be noted.  All of our animals benefit our farm system.  We use their manure, and/or ability to weed and till the soil to enhance the diversity of our farm.  These are healthy, and we dare say  happy animals.
All of our animals are grown with the following:
Fresh air
Sunlight
Organic grains
Rotationally grazed pastures (the chickens are moved three times per day!)
Shelter from the elements
Fresh garden vegetables
See the laying hens greet another great October day.

These are our laying hen chicks being brooded in our greenhouse in May 2009 .  They are now full grown pullets, young females, and have started to lay in earnest as of October. They live in a fancy-ish "egg-mobile", a large chicken coop on an old hay wagon that will house up to 200 layers.  They roost and lay in the egg-mobile and graze and laze all day on our pastures.  They are certified Organic by MOFGA.
Our meat supply is limited and our demand is strong, so please reserve your meat selection ASAP.  Please contact us for current prices.

We offer pork by the whole, 1/2 or 1/4 animal.  We will walk you through what this means, what cuts to expect, etc. if you are interested.  Pork meat is available in November and comes frozen rock solid.

We offer beef by the 1/2. 1/4 or 1/8 animal.  We will walk you through what this means, what cuts to expect, etc. if you are interested.  Beef is available in November and is frozen rock solid.

Meat chickens are sold whole-- fresh within 3 days of slaughter, or frozen after that.   We double bag frozen birds so they will last a year in the freezer.  Chickens are available on three dates: on or around: July 10th, August 14th and Sept 2nd, 2009.
